WHAT DO I DO IF I THINK MY BILL IS TOO HIGH?

Now that it is summer time, everyone is using more water than they think.  First, go out to your meter and write down all of the reading numbers on the meter.  Call us with this and we can verify with you over the phone if the reading we used to calculate your bill is correct.  If the reading used for billing is correct, you may have a leak and may want to call a plumber.  If you have a sprinkler system, find out how many sprinkler heads you have, how many gallons per minute they put out and how often they run in a week.  You can use this information to get an idea of how much water you use whenever you run your sprinklers.

WHAT IF MY WATER LOOKS LIKE MILK?

If you fill a glass with water and it looks milky, it is most likely tiny air bubbles in the water.  These can be caused by a recent repair in your area.  When repairs are made to main lines and water service is stopped, air and at times some debris can get into the main.  It is important that we supply you with good, clear water.  If you have milky looking water, or sand particles in the water, please do not hesitate to call us.  We will send someone out to your area and flush the main lines to remove the air and / or sand particles.

WHAT IF MY CURRENT BILL DOES NOT REFLECT MY RECENT PAYMENT?

If you recently received your water bill and it does not reflect your last payment, first check the statement date at the top of the bill.  Is this date before or after the date that your payment would have been posted to your account?  Call our office and we will be glad to look up your account to see if we posted your payment correctly.  If we have not received your payment, you may want to check with your bank to see if the check has cleared your bank account.

WHAT IF I HAVE LOW PRESSURE?

If you are experiencing low pressure, first go out to your meter and look around your house to see if there is a leak.  If everything around your home appears normal, please call our office immediately.  We may be fixing a leak in your area and temporarily disconnected service for your street.  It is also possible that there is a leak near your home, and we do not know about it yet.

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE WATER?

Did you pay your water bill?  If you do not have water service, please call us immediately.  Your service could be disconnected due to a leak in your area.  Don't wait for your neighbors to call.  We may be aware of a problem in your area but may not know that it is also affecting you.
